About Me

My work is heavily influenced by a ceramic background, the rustic surfaces of oil and wood firing to stoneware temperatures are often recreated by layering, or copper plate etching techniques. My work is currently with paper, Hahnemulhe, and is usually themed through a deep connectedness to the land, art/science cross-overs, working ‘Plein air’, and using the paper as a metaphor of the land, showing the ‘wear of process’ to which Hahnemulhe responds wonderfully.
The Engaging Visions Art work developed into a paper sculpture titled, “Chain Of Ponds- Archival”, being my entry into the Goulburn Art Prize. The exhibition scheduled as a result of winning this prize 2010, will be further developments of 3D work in 2011. This show will be held in the Goulburn Regional Art Gallery in December, following a one person show at Hannah Fyre gallery in Braidwood.
Following my travels to Europe and Canada in the northern autumn 2010, I will return to an art project in a field study program on the Upper Shoalhaven River catchment near Braidwood, of four field trips over the summer of 2010/11. Participants will be in two streams, regional artists, and art school students. The resulting artwork will be exhibited at the Two Fires Festival, April 2011.
